About Emily
I grew up in a small town in Maine and learned quickly that the cold and snow weren't for me. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a BS: Equine Studies + Industry Management, I moved to Ocala, FL with dreams of breeding horses and owning a boarding barn. Instead, I landed an job at the Florida Horse Park and moved from Events Coordinator to the Director of Events. Throughout my 4.5 years as an employee, I developed the facility from 60 events per year to over 110 events per year. I assisted in bringing horse shows in-house, thus creating a much large stream of income, and oversaw millions of dollars worth of construction including six new barns with 160 Priefert stalls, the development of a Modified and Advanced cross-country course, and the 4 new Martin Collins Arenas with the Damman Risohorse System. Additionally, I was instrumental in securing a new FEI 4*S for the Florida Horse Park's Ocala International Festival of Eventing.
With the addition of the Partner's of the Park (POP) Shows, I have organized FEI Eventing, USEF/USEA Horse Trials, USEF/WDAA Western dressage, and assisted in events that span Reining, Roping, Cutting, Dressage, Driving, Endurance, Mounted Games, Hunter/Jumper, and much more. Over the past few years, I have established an extensive network in the Ocala area with equestrians in every discipline and small business professionals in various areas. In December of 2021, I graduated with my Master's in Public Relations from the University of Florida. In all my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my five dogs (KC, Luke, Tootie, and Billie Jean, and the matriarch Mabel), and breeding and developing sport horses. |
